I haven't been blogging much lately because I've been preparing for our 10 year anniversary trip to Jamaica! We leave on Saturday and we're super excited! We haven't been completely kid-less (except when Nick and Amber kept them a few weeks ago) since Hailey was born, much less gone on a "real" vacation in FOREVER so it's going to make me a little anxious at first, I'm sure! The kids will be in great hands with Steve's family in Corpus. (And for any creeps who may be stalking our blog, our friends will be at our house while we're gone so don't think you can break in or anything!!)

I'm sure we will have an obnoxious amount of pics to post, both of our trip and our kids' adventures when we get back - wish all of us luck!

Tyson got his first pet on Sunday - meet "Rocketship", a friendly ladybug from our crepe myrtle. He was so excited to set him up in this jar, give him leaves and a little water, and have Daddy poke holes in the top for air.

Unfortunately Rocketship has already decided he didn't like his new home! After a little sadness we told Tyson we'd be able to find another ladybug.

Oh, and I love this pic of Hailey, guess she found our storage place for the learning potty!

first night away from home

Nick and Amber kept the kids overnight on Friday so we could go out for STEVE'S BIRTHDAY (happy birthday Steve)!! Due to some circumstances out of our control, we got a much later start to our evening than we expected, but still ended up having a great time going out to a late dinner at BJ's and then bowling.

Hailey had a landmark on Friday night though - her first night away from home (without Mommy and Daddy). A year ago, this may have been a long, tough night for Nick and Amber, but our little girl has come a looooooooooong way overcoming her fears! She did great though, and of course Tyson did great as always. He told us at least 4 times on the way home that he didn't want to leave.

Thanks Nick and Amber for volunteering, it was a weird feeling to be completely kid-less, that hasn't happened in 2 years (we usually have them at home and still have to get up early with them the next morning if we go out)!

And Happy Birthday to my hubby!!
