newest family member

Steve proudly announces the arrival of our newest child, seen below. Height: 7' 6", Length: 8' 8", Weight: 1500 lbs

Thanks to Justin and his dad for all of their help getting this work of art completed and delivered to us yesterday! We will enjoy it for the rest of our lives. Anyone have some meat they'd like to try out on it?

2 months

Hailey, you are 2 months old already!

Weight: 11 lbs 8 oz (75th percentile)
Height: 22.75 inches (70th percentile)

You eat every 2-4 hours and take random naps throughout the day. You sleep a 4-6 hour stretch at night, wake up to eat, and then go back to sleep for awhile. One time you slept 7 hours at night but you haven't done it since.

You have had some reflux lately but we just got you some medicine and it seems to be helping. You give us big smiles and sweet coos when you wake up and when you're getting your diaper changed. We just have a hard time catching it on camera! You are a sweetheart and mommy loves holding you as much as she can. Don't grow up too fast baby doll!

true love

well, for now atleast :) this was also Hailey's first kiss on the lips!

ahhh... honesty

It's funny how kids just say it like it is. Today this little character...

was in a particularly clingy mood when we got to school, so I was walking down the hall to his class (at the end of the long hall) holding Tyson and his backpack on one arm and carrying Hailey in her carseat with the other. Tyson lovingly pats my belly as we're walking down the hall.

My thoughts: "Oh he must be noticing that my tummy is smaller now after I had the baby."

Tyson: (gets right in my face with a goofy grin on his face) "Hey Mommy, your tummy is sticking out!"

Nice! All I could do was laugh.

first photo shoot

I took Hailey to get professional pics done the Friday before I went back to work. She broke out in baby acne at 2 weeks of age and I've been waiting for it to go away before doing pictures. It has gotten better, but still hasn't gone away. I didn't want to wait any longer though - she is already growing so much. She cooperated for awhile but when we got her to flash her cute smile at us, she'd do something weird with her eyes. Oh well! Here's some of the better ones.

I think this is my favorite.

Love those feet! I kiss them every day!
The first week back at work went ok. I was proud of myself dropping her off, I did MUCH better than the first time I left Tyson (and that was just with Ms. Darlene, who we had known for YEARS - some things really are easier with the second kid!). Hailey's at an at-home child care that came highly recommended by our neighbors. She gets one on one attention so that's great.
I hope it won't take me too long to get the hang of getting two kiddos ready and out of the house by a certain time - haven't made it within my goal time yet. I'm sure I'll start figuring out ways to make it happen. Hailey decided to initiate her new caregiver by showering her with poop on her second day. Hee hee!
