Totally don't get it Tuesday

I am COMPLETELY copying this from something Katie does on her blog, but I couldn't resist, it just fit in perfectly.

In my many hours in the car lately, I rarely find things that entertain me or catch my attention. Twice in the last week, I have seen this car. Both times, I felt an intense desire to run it off the road. Why? You may not be able to tell by the picture, since I took it with my phone...

but it has a "red hat society" magnet on the left side and an actual picture of a red hat on a magnet on the right side that says "red had society" in white letters.
What is up with the red hat thing?? I actually haven't heard much about it lately so I was kind of hoping the fad had died down. Maybe I don't get it because I'm not close to the "qualifying age", but you read it here... I will never be in the red hat society. I totally don't get it. (Thanks Katie for the T.G.I.T. idea)

You are correct in saying you are not of the qualifying age. I can tell you my mom has a group of girlfriends that get together once a month and go out to eat. They each have a hat that they can wear (once they've had too many margaritas). They don't wear the hats much but I've seen a few pictures. I don't get it either but it has a lot to do with getting older and doing whatever you want to do because you can. Silly, I know.

I've seen a lady a few times on my way home and it cracks me up to recognize her. It's a woman in her 60s or 70s in a maroon corvette and she has bleach blonde wavy hair (possibly a mullet style) with a super dark orange tan. Cracks me up. I'm going to start waving when I see her.

Awesome! I need to resurrect my TDGI Tuesdays! I've been trying to come up with some new ones. And, I agree w/ you on the red hat thing. Weird.

It is interesting that you would notice that while you were driving. PLEASE KEEP YOU EYES ON THE ROAD LADY! I am already old and I can't stand LOW CUT JEANS. I bet that you really like them.

My mom had a red hat party for her 60th. It's great. I love it!
